All activities held at the Sedalia Middle School Pool. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
Pre-Test: first day of each course
Must pass Pre-Test to continue course.
You will be expected to demonstrate these strong swimming skills:
*Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. You may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
*Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
*Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds: 1) starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed. 2) Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object. 3) Return to surface and swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object while keeping your face at or near the surface. You should not swim the distance under water. Exit water without using a ladder or steps.
Sedalia Parks and Recreation is an American Red Cross Authorized Provider for training courses. All courses are Pass/Fail and no exceptions can be made. If a participant does not pass the pre-requisite course requirements, a refund of $100 will be issued. If a participant continues in the course beyond the pre-requisite and does not pass, no refund will be issued.
Participants must provide a valid e-mail address and will receive their certification in 7 – 10 business days following completion of the course. Certification valid for 2 years. RENTALS
You can now book your pool rental by calling or stopping by the Parks Office during normal business hours. Payment required at the time of registration.
Pool Parties – both pools
To book a party, call or stop by the Parks & Recreation Office.
Fees are due at the time of the reservation.
Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance.
Available timeslots:
Sunday – Thursday: 6:30-8:00 p.m. or 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 7:30-9:00 p.m. or 7:30-10:00 p.m.
Fees: (Guest count includes anyone attending the pool party)
Centennial Pool, up to 50 people:
1.5 hour party = $175
2.5 hour party = $275
Liberty Pool, up to 50 people:
1.5 hour party = $200
2.5 hour party = $300
Larger parties also available. Please contact the Parks Office for details.
Cabana Rental – both pools
To make your reservation, call or stop by the Parks & Recreation Office.
Fees are due at the time of the reservation.

Due to health concerns, no humans will be allowed in the water with their dogs.

Rules
- Dogs must remain under owner’s control at all times.
- Dogs must remain leashed until inside the pool gates. No free running!
- Proof of current vaccinations required.
- Owners are responsible for any “accidents.”
- Any dogs not obeying rules and/or causing a disturbance will be asked to leave.
A WORD TO PARENTS
Members of our Aquatic Staff are skilled and trained professionals. Their goal is to provide patrons with a safe, clean, and enjoyable facility. The lifeguards’ purpose is not to supervise your child, but to prevent accidents. Parents and guardians are expected to watch their children and assist in enforcing all policies for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons.
