Youth SPORTS

To register for our programs, stop by the Parks and Recreation Office or call (660) 826.4930.
Payment is required at the time of registration.  We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

You can also register online (for most activities) at https://secure.rec1.com/MO/sedalia-mo-/catalog

Late Registration Policy: If availability allows, and we accept registration after the deadline, a $5 late fee will apply to programs and a $20 late fee will apply to all leagues.

Permission to use Names/Images: Periodically, the SPR will take pictures or videotapes of participants while they are engaged in programs or while enjoying parks and other facilities. These photos may appear in Parks and Recreation brochures, website and publications. If you see a staff member or photographer taking pictures and you do not want your picture taken, please speak to the photographer and request your photo not be taken and deleted if necessary.

Biddy Basketball & Little Hoopsters

This program is instructor lead along with parent interaction and will work to reach kids the skill set of basketball with guidance from our staff. All players get a t-shirt.

Sedalia Stealth Club Volleyball

2025-2026 Try outs will be held November 2nd at Heckart Community Center.
Tryout information will be available October 1.
Tryout fee of $5 per player

Season runs December – March
Practices held on Sunday, Tuesday, & Wednesdays but may vary depending on court space/scheduling

$750 per player – Payment in full at beginning of season will receive $50 discount.

Monthly autobill payments will be split into 4 monthly payments of $187.50 due on 12/1, 1/1, 2/1, and 3/1. A credit/debit card must be on file for monthly payments. Club is ran under Sedalia Parks and Recreation and all payments need to be made to Sedalia Parks & Recreation.

Tournaments are 1 day tournaments on either Saturday or Sunday, no more than 90 miles.

This program will be instructor lead along with volunteers or buddy’s and will teach the kids how to play the game of basketball. This is a 4 week course and will be played at the Heckart Community Center. Participants will be divided by age group.

 

Tee Ball

The purpose of the program is to teach the basics of baseball be teaching kids how to field, catch and hit the ball as well as run the bases. Players are divided up into teams and will have a practice schedule that will last the month of May and games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday in June.

Tiny Tees

This program is an instructional based program. A lead instructor runs this program with the help of volunteers and parent involvement. Tiny Tees is a great way to introduce your child to the game of baseball while meeting new friends and getting some great exercise!

 

Youth Baseball

Practices begin in April and games in May/June.

Youth Baseball is a recreation league that is divided into grade divisions and players are separated out on teams. Players practice for a month learning that skill sets and rules of baseball. After practices are over, players will then be given a game schedule. Game schedule will include 8 games (depending on amount of teams) and the games will be played until the beginning of July.

Early Registration – $60 per player

Register by March 10, 2026

SPR Youth Volleyball program is offered to boys and girls during the fall for kids in 3rd-6th grade. This program is designed to develop an understanding of rules, fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Practice will be held at the Heckart Community Center during the week beginning late August. You will play 8-12 games starting in mid-September and the season will end around around November 6th.
This league does play other towns so there may be some traveling to Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Centerview, Windsor, and Warrensburg. Along with 8 games, we will play in 2 tournaments. Tournaments are held on Fridays and/or Saturdays. Games and practices are mostly on Mondays and Wednesdays.
