NEW YOUTH FITNESS SUPERVISION PROCESS AUGUST 2025

We’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for all users of the Heckart Community Center fitness floor—especially our younger members. To help ensure consistent supervision and responsible use of the fitness area, we are updating our process for youth participants. Youth ages

10–15 may continue to access the fitness area after completing a Youth Fitness Orientation, but starting this fall, the parent or legal guardian (age 18+) must now attend the orientation alongside the youth. During orientation, the adult will sign a Fitness Center Waiver and Release of Liability and will have the opportunity to designate up to four approved “supervisors” for their child. These designated supervisors (age 16+) will be expected to actively supervise the youth on the fitness floor, follow a clear set of guidelines, and will be responsible for the youth while in the Fitness Area.

Youth will not be allowed on the fitness floor with someone who is not on their approved supervisor list.

This updated procedure aims to:

  • Create a safer and more structured fitness experience for youth
  • Ensure youth are appropriately supervised at all times
  • Encourage healthy habits in a responsible way

We’ll be soft launching this new process throughout the fall. We ask that all participating youth complete the updated orientation and have their waiver on file by October 1, 2025. Beginning January 1, 2026, the waiver and approved supervisor list will be required to access the fitness floor. For questions or concerns please contact Rena at [email protected].

Thank you for helping us make the Heckart Community Center a safe and positive place for everyone!

I am an ISSA certified personal trainer and nutrition coach with 2 years of experience working at HCC.  I believe that fitness is not a one-size-fits-all journey. My approach is to create customized training programs tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, build muscle, improve athletic performance, or simply lead a healthier lifestyle, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way. Over the last couple of years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, from beginners to athletes.
