Youth SPORTS

To register for our programs, stop by the Parks and Recreation Office or call (660) 826.4930.
Payment is required at the time of registration.  We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Late Registration Policy: If availability allows, and we accept registration after the deadline, a $5 late fee will apply to programs and a $20 late fee will apply to all leagues.

Permission to use Names/Images: Periodically, the SPR will take pictures or videotapes of participants while they are engaged in programs or while enjoying parks and other facilities. These photos may appear in Parks and Recreation brochures, website and publications. If you see a staff member or photographer taking pictures and you do not want your picture taken, please speak to the photographer and request your photo not be taken and deleted if necessary.

Dance and Tumbling with Grace

Registration for returning students opens August 11th.
Non-returning students registration opens August 15th.

Dance with Grace classes are an eight month commitment. Classes run September – May and include musical theatre, tumbling, cheer, adult, teen, and child dance classes.

Youth Baseball

2023 Baseball registration dates

Early Registration Dec. 5 – Feb. 24 ($55)
Open Registration Feb. 27 – Mar. 10 ($65)
Ages: K–9th grade (grade is ‘22-23 school year)
Practices begin in April and games in May/June

Youth baseball is a recreation league that is divided into grade divisions and players are separated out on teams. Players practice for a month learning the skill sets and rules of baseball. After practices are over, players will then be given a game schedule. Game schedule will include 8 games (depending on amount of teams) and the games will be played until the beginning of July.

Participants will need to be Heckart Community Center members or pay day pass fee to play. Any participant 12 years old or younger will need to be picked up promptly at 6pm and can’t be left in the facility unattended before or after open play times. This program is instructor led by Amanda Blackburn and high school soccer players. Kids will work on skill set of soccer with guidance from our staff. This program will be held at Convention Hall.

Biddy Basketball & Little Hoopsters

Sedalia Parks & Rec Youth Volleyball program is open to boys and girls and is offered during the fall for kids in 3rd-6th Grade. This program is designed to develop an understanding of rules, fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Practice will be held at the Heckart Community Center during the week beginning late August. 8 to 12 games will be played starting in mid September, and the season will end October 29. This league does play other towns so there will be traveling to Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Centerview, Windsor, and Warrensburg. Along with the 8 games we will play in two tournaments. Tournaments are held on Fridays and/or Saturdays, games and practices are mostly on Mondays & Wednesdays!
