Facility Closures

In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we ask that you follow the guidelines listed below when in our parks:

  • Avoid touching surfaces.  Therefore facilities such as playgrounds, bathrooms, shelters, ball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts, and the dog park are closed until further notice.
  • Maintain at least six feet (6’) of distance between all individuals that are not family members.
  • Avoid activities that share equipment or involve touching.

Examples of things you can do in the parks at this time:

  • Walking/running
  • Walk your dog
  • Ride your bike
  • Fishing

Please follow all CDC guidelines in regards to Covid-19 prevention.

Additional April activity & league updates

Due to following the current guidelines regarding Covid-19, the following events have been rescheduled or cancelled. Registered participants who have questions can call our office at (660) 826-4930.

  • Adult Spring Volleyball – league has been cancelled; team captains will be notified.
  • Adult Summer Softball – league registration continues until April 17. League start will be delayed until June.
  • Dance with Grace/Tumbling – April classes are cancelled.
  • Pickleball – April classes are cancelled. Tentatively resumes May 4.
  • Pound – April classes are cancelled. Tentatively resumes May 4.
  • Shelter Rentals – rentals cancelled through April 30.
  • Sit & Fit – April classes are cancelled. Tentatively resumes May 7.
  • Superhero Party – rescheduled to August 7.
  • Tiny Tots Play Park – will not meet the rest of the season. Resumes in September.
  • Youth Baseball – we plan to start practices May 4; more details TBA.

  • Tween Egg Hunt – cancelled.

Clover Dell Park reopens March 24

Starting Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Clover Dell Park will reopen to normal hours. However, we encourage our patrons to not use park playgrounds, shelters, and other facilities until further notice.  Please take the necessary precautions to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, including maintaining at least six feet (6’) of distance between all individuals that are not family members.

We would like to thank our patrons for their cooperation the last several days.

Convention Hall to have limited access until further notice

March 20, 2020:

In order to further the health and safety of our citizens and staff, access to Convention Hall in Liberty Park will be limited to staff only until further notice starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020. All scheduled activities are postponed until further notice.

All park restrooms will be closed starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 until further notice.

We encourage our patrons to not use park playgrounds, shelters, and other facilities until further notice. Our staff is doing their best to clean and sanitize all equipment & facilities.

The Sedalia Parks & Rec Office can still be reached by calling (660) 826-4930. Online registration is available at https://registration.sedaliaparks.com.

Heckart Community Center building site closed to public

Due to work at the Heckart Community Center site (Liberty Park track & football field area), the area is now closed to the public.  For more information, please call the Parks & Recreation Office at 660 826-4930.

New Shelter Policies

Liberty Land Flyer closed for repairs

Due to needed repairs, the Liberty Land Flyer will not run this spring & summer. Safety is our #1 priority, therefore, the necessary repairs will need to be made before it is reopened. We hope you will continue to enjoy Liberty Park and look forward to riding the train again soon.
