Youth Baseball

2023 Baseball registration is closed.

• Early Registration Dec. 5 – Feb. 24 ($55)
• Open Registration Feb. 27 – Mar. 10 ($65)
• Ages: K–9th grade (grade is ‘22-23 school year)
• Practices begin in April and games in May/June

Youth baseball is a recreation league that is divided into grade divisions and players are separated out on teams. Players practice for a month learning the skill sets and rules of baseball. After practices are over, players will then be given a game schedule. Game schedule will include 8 games (depending on amount of teams) and the games will be played until the beginning of July.

Tee Ball

• Practice in May; Games in June
• Ages 5-6 years
• $45 per player
• Register by April 16

This program teaches the basics of baseball to kids– how to field, catch, and hit the ball as well as run the bases. Players are divided up into teams and will have a practice schedule that will last the month of May and games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday in June.

Tiny Tees

• Wednesdays, June 7-28
• Session Times: 9am, 5:30pm, or 6:30pm
• Ages 3-4 years

This program is instructor led along with the help of volunteers and parent involvement. Tiny Tee’s is a great way to introduce your child to the game of baseball while meeting new friends and getting some great exercise!

Tiny Kickers

• September 6- 28

This program is an instructional based program. A lead instructor runs this program with the help of volunteers and parent involvement. If you have a little one interested in learning the basics of soccer then this program is for you!

Diamond of Dreams League

This program is offered to anyone ages 6-18 years old with a physical or intellectual challenge. This program will be instructor led along with volunteers or buddy’s and will teach the kids how to play the game of baseball.

Shooting Stars Youth Basketball League

• Thursdays, June 1-22
• HCC
• 5:30pm- 6:15pm
• Ages 6-18 years old
• $25 per child
• Register by May 12

This program is offered to anyone ages 6-18 years old with a physical or intellectual challenge. This program will be instructor lead along with volunteers or buddy’s and will teach the kids how to play the game of basketball.

Youth Volleyball

Sedalia Parks & Rec Youth Volleyball program is open to boys and girls and is offered during the fall for kids in 3rd-6th Grade. This program is designed to develop an understanding of rules, fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Practice will be held at the Heckart Community Center during the week beginning late August. 8 to 12 games will be played starting in mid September, and the season will end October 28. This league does play other towns so there will be traveling to Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Centerview, Windsor, and Warrensburg. Along with the 8 games we will play in two tournaments. Tournaments are held on Fridays and/or Saturdays, games and practices are mostly on Mondays & Wednesdays!

Youth Volleyball Summer Camp

• Tuesday-Thursday, June 6-8 for 3-5 grade campers
• Tuesday-Thursday, June 13-15 for 6-8 grade campers
• HCC
• 9am-4:30pm
• $50 per player
• Register by May 30

Wanting to get into a fun summer adult league? Then Adult Softball is for you! This is a team registered sports program and payers must be 16 years of age or older. All games are played at Centennial or Hubbard Park. Leagues offered are Co-
Ed Recreation and Intermediate on Monday nights, Men’s Recreation and Intermediate League on Tuesday nights, Thursday night Co-Ed recreation, and Sunday night Industrial League.

Dusk to Dawn Tournament

• Saturday, July 22
• Centennial Park
• Games will begin at 6pm
• Players must be 16 years old or older
• $200 per team
• Register by July 7

This will be a 3-game guarantee tournament. There are two divisions to sign up for, Co-Ed or Men’s. You can only play in one tournament. Registration for both divisions is not allowed.

Fall

Adult Kickball

• League play starts September 13
• Wednesday nights
• $125 per team
• Register by September 3

Remember playing Kickball in school? Get your teams together and join our Adult Kickball league on Wednesday nights. Games are played at Centennial ballfields. This is a team registered sports program.

Pickleball

• Included in membership
• Pay the daily fee
• Monday – Friday: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• Monday Evenings: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong; using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Rules for pickleball are
simple, making it a great introductory sport. Pickleball is offered to all ages playing at Heckart Community Center Gymnasium.

Personal Training

At the Heckart Community Center we offer personal training. Sessions can be purchased for an individual or small groups. Group personal training does not offer individualized training, but rather training together as a group. Great for accountability among friends! Private Swimming Lessons

• $20/ 30 minute lesson
• You can sign up for 4, 6, or 8 sessions at a time
• At the time of registration, we will get contact information and swim levels/goals information
• The aquatic supervisor will then assign a swim instructor that will call to set up a time for your first lesson. Offered year round

Age Considerations: If the child is outside of the recommended age group you will need to call to register. Online registration will not give you an option of registering for the correct class. If your child is more than a year outside of the recommended age for their correct level, group lessons may not be the best option for them.

• Levels 1 – 5: 8:30 a.m. & 9:30 a.m.
• Water Babies & Pre-School Swim: 9:00 a.m. & 9:30 a.m.

Parent Involvement: A parent is required to get in the water for water babies and pre-school swim. if more than one child is registered there needs to be an adult for each child.

What swim level is best for my child?

Health Requirement: If your child is sick, they may not enter the water for two weeks after the last episode of diarrhea. Call HCC with questions about transfers and refunds.

Pool party pricing is for up to 50 people. For any amount over 50 people attending, it will be $1 per person.

Lifeguarding Courses

Looking for a part time job? We’re hiring lifeguards!

All lifeguards are required to attend a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course. The cost is $150 for a 2-year certification. For returning guards that need to get recertified, the cost is $75.

Grab dad, grandpa, uncle, brother or that special man in your life and join us for our third annual Father’s. Day Fishing Derby! Sedalia Parks and Recreation is partnering with Missouri Department of Conservation Department! Prizes will be awarded to the top fisherman. Limited fishing poles available first come first serve basis. Worms will be provided as bait. Any other bait will need to be provided by participant. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded to: Biggest Fish (lbs), Longest Fish, and Smallest Fish (lbs).

Dive In Movie- DC League of Super Pets
