To register for our programs, stop by the Parks and Recreation Office or call (660) 826.4930.
Payment is required at the time of registration. We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Late Registration Policy: If availability allows, and we accept registration after the deadline, a $5 late fee will apply to programs and a $20 late fee will apply to all leagues.
Permission to use Names/Images: Periodically, the SPR will take pictures or videotapes of participants while they are engaged in programs or while enjoying parks and other facilities. These photos may appear in Parks and Recreation brochures, website and publications. If you see a staff member or photographer taking pictures and you do not want your picture taken, please speak to the photographer and request your photo not be taken and deleted if necessary.

Youth Sports
Youth Baseball
2023 Baseball registration is closed.
- Early Registration Dec. 5 – Feb. 24 ($55)

- Ages: K–9th grade (grade is ‘22-23 school year)
- Practices begin in April and games in May/June
Youth baseball is a recreation league that is divided into grade divisions and players are separated out on teams. Players practice for a month learning the skill sets and rules of baseball. After practices are over, players will then be given a game schedule. Game schedule will include 8 games (depending on amount of teams) and the games will be played until the beginning of July.

Tee Ball

This program teaches the basics of baseball to kids– how to field, catch, and hit the ball as well as run the bases. Players are divided up into teams and will have a practice schedule that will last the month of May and games will be played on Tuesday and Thursday in June.
Tiny Tees

- Session Times: 9am, 5:30pm, or 6:30pm
- Ages 3-4 years

This program is instructor led along with the help of volunteers and parent involvement. Tiny Tee’s is a great way to introduce your child to the game of baseball while meeting new friends and getting some great exercise!

This program is an instructional based program. A lead instructor runs this program with the help of volunteers and parent involvement. If you have a little one interested in learning the basics of soccer then this program is for you!

Sedalia Parks & Rec Youth Volleyball program is open to boys and girls and is offered during the fall for kids in 3rd-6th Grade. This program is designed to develop an understanding of rules, fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Practice will be held at the Heckart Community Center during the week beginning late August. 8 to 12 games will be played starting in mid September, and the season will end October 28. This league does play other towns so there will be traveling to Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Centerview, Windsor, and Warrensburg. Along with the 8 games we will play in two tournaments. Tournaments are held on Fridays and/or Saturdays, games and practices are mostly on Mondays & Wednesdays!
Youth Volleyball Summer Camp

This will be a 3-game guarantee tournament. There are two divisions to sign up for, Co-Ed or Men’s. You can only play in one tournament. Registration for both divisions is not allowed.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong; using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Rules for pickleball are
simple, making it a great introductory sport. Pickleball is offered to all ages playing at Heckart Community Center Gymnasium.

At the Heckart Community Center we offer personal training. Sessions can be purchased for an individual or small groups. Group personal training does not offer individualized training, but rather training together as a group. Great for accountability among friends! - The aquatic supervisor will then assign a swim instructor that will call to set up a time for your first lesson. Offered year round
Age Considerations: If the child is outside of the recommended age group you will need to call to register. Online registration will not give you an option of registering for the correct class. If your child is more than a year outside of the recommended age for their correct level, group lessons may not be the best option for them.

- Water Babies & Pre-School Swim: 9:00 a.m. & 9:30 a.m.
Parent Involvement: A parent is required to get in the water for water babies and pre-school swim. if more than one child is registered there needs to be an adult for each child.
What swim level is best for my child?
Health Requirement: If your child is sick, they may not enter the water for two weeks after the last episode of diarrhea. Call HCC with questions about transfers and refunds.

All lifeguards are required to attend a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course. The cost is $150 for a 2-year certification. For returning guards that need to get recertified, the cost is $75.

Sedalia Parks and Recreation is partnering with Missouri Department of Conservation Department! Prizes will be awarded to the top fisherman. Limited fishing poles available first come first serve basis. Worms will be provided as bait. Any other bait will need to be provided by participant. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded to: Biggest Fish (lbs), Longest Fish, and Smallest Fish (lbs).

Practice will be held at the Heckart Community Center during the week beginning late August. 8 to 12 games will be played starting in mid September, and the season will end October 28. This league does play other towns so there will be traveling to Cole Camp, Green Ridge, Centerview, Windsor, and Warrensburg. Along with the 8 games we will play in two tournaments. Tournaments are held on Fridays and/or Saturdays, games and practices are mostly on Mondays & Wednesdays!
Youth Volleyball Summer Camp

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong; using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. It is a game that is appropriate for players of all ages and skill levels. Rules for pickleball are

Group personal training does not offer individualized training, but rather training together as a group. Great for accountability among friends! - The aquatic supervisor will then assign a swim instructor that will call to set up a time for your first lesson. Offered year round
Age Considerations: If the child is outside of the recommended age group you will need to call to register. Online registration will not give you an option of registering for the correct class. If your child is more than a year outside of the recommended age for their correct level, group lessons may not be the best option for them.

- Water Babies & Pre-School Swim: 9:00 a.m. & 9:30 a.m.
Parent Involvement: A parent is required to get in the water for water babies and pre-school swim. if more than one child is registered there needs to be an adult for each child.
What swim level is best for my child?
Health Requirement: If your child is sick, they may not enter the water for two weeks after the last episode of diarrhea. Call HCC with questions about transfers and refunds.

All lifeguards are required to attend a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course. The cost is $150 for a 2-year certification. For returning guards that need to get recertified, the cost is $75.
