To register for our programs, stop by the Parks and Recreation Office or call (660) 826.4930.  Payment is required at the time of registration.  We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Late Registration Policy: If availability allows, and we accept registration after the deadline, a $5 late fee will apply to programs and a $20 late fee will apply to all leagues.

FATHER'S DAY FISHIN' DERBY

Grab dad, grandpa, uncle, brother or that special man in your life and join us for our second annual Father’s Day Fishing Derby at Clover Dell Park! We are partnering with Pettis County 4-H and Missouri Conservation Department to offer this program.  Prizes will be awarded to the top fisherman. Limited fishing poles available first come first serve basis. Worms will be provided as bait, any other bait will need to be provided by participant. Pre-registration at the Parks & Recreation Office by June 7 is strongly encouraged!

4TH OF JULY PARADE

Sign up today for our 2019 4th of July parade!  The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. on July 4 and held in downtown Sedalia.

Judged categories include Most Patriotic, Most Spirited, and Best Representation of the theme “United Together.”

Submit a parade registration form to the SPR office by June 26.  Parade entries are free.  Details and line up locations & numbers will be sent no later than Friday, June 28 to the email you provide on the entry form.

We will also need volunteers!  To register as a volunteer, contact Savannah Lynde at slynde@sedaliaparks.com.

Besides the parade, we several other ways to celebrate the 4th of July!

We will have a community picnic at Centennial Park Shelter #1 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Enjoy a free hot dog!

Centennial Pool will be open special hours of 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Admission will be half price ($2 for anyone age 4 & up).  Free admission to Veterans & Military (with ID).

And don’t miss the fireworks display at the Missouri State Fairgrounds, at approximately 9:30 p.m.

June 17-21: Tumbling.  Ages 5-11.  No specific shoe requirements. (Class is full).
July 15-19: Ballet & Jazz.  Ages 3-6.  Ballet or jazz shoes preferred. (Class is full).
July 22-26: Hip Hop & Jazz.  Ages 6-10. Tennis shoes and jazz shoes preferred.

It’s a PAW-ty for the pups!  Come out to Liberty Park and join us for our 2nd annual Bark in the Park.  Vendors, food, and FUN for your pooch!  Donations are appreciated and will be donated to local rescues.  Items needed are: bleach, paper towels, trash bags, dog & cat treats, and laundry detergent.

To sign up to be a vendor, please fill out our Vendor Application – Bark in The Park and return it to the Parks Office with payment of $30.  You can also register online!

The Sedalia Parks & Recreation Department will once again sponsor the Summer Concert Band.  They will perform Thursday evenings in the Convention Hall gymnasium (June 20, 27, July 11, 18, 25) starting at 7:30 p.m.  They will also perform Wednesday, July 3.  Free admission.

FISHING

 

In cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation, we are able to provide fishing opportunities at Liberty and Clover Dell Parks.  The MDC stocks the lake with fish in the spring and summer months.  Fishing rules and regulations are set by the Missouri Department  of Conservation.  If you need to get a fishing license, or have other questions, please call the MDC at (660) 530-5500 or visit their office located at 2000 S Limit Avenue, Sedalia.

Looking for a unique way to recognize someone special?  Purchase a rose bush today!  This would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, graduation, in memory of/honor of, and so much more.

The “recipient” of the rose bush will receive a letter from us informing them that a rose bush was purchased in their honor along with your personalized message.  (Plaques or markers will not be placed in the rose garden).

TINY TOTS PLAY PARK

Returns September 2019!

Visit our indoor playground with riding toys, a bounce house, and more.  Let the kids burn off some energy and make new friends.  Held in the Convention Hall gym.  Please pay for child(ren) in office before entering play group.

Session ends April 24, 2019.  Program returns September 2019.

Registration for our current session is now closed.

All classes require a 3 month commitment (February/March/April) to prepare for the recital in May.  Exceptions: Mommy & Me, which doesn’t perform in the recital, and Adult Tap (recital is optional).
