For kids up to 5 years old - Bring your toddler and their beach toys and splash in the water along with them! With the pool not being so crowded, your child will get used to the water and have fun, too! Designed as a parent-child activity. (Shallow end only!)

The Sedalia Parks & Recreation Department offers swimming on Saturdays at Liberty Pool from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon designed for any individual with a mental or physical disability. There is no fee and lifeguards are provided by our department. This program begins June 12 and ends August 1.

Thursday, June 17, 2010 pool admission is only $1. Bob 92.3 FM will be at Centennial Pool from 1-3 pm and Liberty Pool from 3-5 pm. The park staff will have lots of fun water games to play for the whole family.

Little Mermaid Pool Party

Calling all mermiads for a morning of fun at Centennial Pool! Activities will include an underwater treasure hunt, cool pool crafts, a special story by our very own mermaid, snacks, and of course swimming. The Little Mermaid Pool Party will be held Saturday, July 17 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The event is open to ages 2 to 7 yrs. old and is $8.00 per child. Space is limited so register today at the Parks Office.

Doggie Dive - Centennial Pool

Centennial Pool has gone to the dogs! Here's an opportunity for your pooch to beat the heat and just have a "dog gone" good time. Dogs will follow their owners' rules and be accompanied by an adult. Owners are responsible for cleaning up any accidents that their dog(s) make. This program is only held once a year, on the last day before the pool is drained - so don't miss it!
Pre-registration at the Parks Office is preferred (plus, you receive a discount!) Pre-registered dogs are $2.00; admission at the gate is $3.00 per dog.

Water Aerobics

Join the class that will hlep you feel good all day! This is great for those who are beginning to get back in shape or those who are already in a weekly workout. You will receive stretching, toning, and some cardio while amont friends. You body will be 50-90% in the pool. Let the water wash your stres away! Swimming skills are not required.
Want to try the class out? Come during our free opening week, June 7 - 11.
Water Aerobics will meet Monday - Friday at Liberty Pool from 12pm to 1 pm. Sign up monthly and pay $20 per month (pay at Parks Office or pool), or individual classes are $2.00, payable daily at the pool.

Remember the good 'ol days of the drive-in movie? Well, grab a floating lounge chair, kick back, relax, and enjoy the show. We will have a movie, concession stand, and lots of fun! Centennial pool will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 9:00 p.m. The fee is $3.00 per person payable at the event.

Adult Swim/Lap Swim

Now that Centennial Pool is closed, Adult Swim will be held at Liberty Pool through August 25 from 11:00a.m. to 12:50 p.m. daily. There is a fee of $1.00 per person.
This program is limited to adults ONLY (18 & over) - no children. Lap swimmers will also be able to participate in Adult Swim in designated lap lanes. All participants: please observe these designated lanes. Those swimming at a more leisurley pace will have access to the rest of the pool area. Or you may choose to soak up the sun while relaxing in a lounge chair - it's up to you!
Please remember that Adult Swim is offered from 11:00a.m. to 12:50 p.m. only. No early arrivals! Also, we msut clear the pool no later than 12:50 p.m. to prepare for general admission.

Aqua Camp

This camp for kids 7 - 12 will feature water safety, swimming instructions, water games, crafts and much more FUN! Swimmers must bring a sack lunch and sunscreen each day.

Teens Late Night Swim

Teens (age 13-17 only) this is a night of fun just for you; we will have a great DJ entertaining you while you hangout with friends and enjoy a safe fun summer night. Concessions will be available; cost is $5.00 per person.

Laps for Life

Calling all Lap Swimmers for a fun summer-long competition! Starting May 29 and ending August 29, laps will be counted on an “on your own” honor system. In order for laps to be counted, they MUST have been swam at either Liberty or Centennial pool during regular hours or Adult Swim. Laps must be recorded before you leave the pool on your lap card (you can NOT record past days). Lap cards will be located at both pools, results will be posted monthly. The “Laps for Life” Champ will be announced at noon on Monday, August 30 at Liberty Pool.
The first place winner will receive a year of FREE admittance to Adult Swim/Lap Swim for the 2011 season. You may register at anytime at either pool or the Parks Office. Registration is $5.00 per participant. Prizes will be given to the top 5.
