Lifeguarding Certification Course
March 21 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Fee: $150.00 –includes book & instruction in both classroom & pool settings
Must be at least 15 years old. Swim Portion- Sedalia Middle School Pool. First Aid and testing at Convention Hall. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
Pre-Test: Mon. Mar. 13; 5:30-9:00 p.m.
Must past Pre-Test to continue course.
You will be expected to demonstrate these strong swimming skills:
* Swim 300 yards continuously.
* Complete a 10-pound object retrieval.
Starting in the water, you must swim 20 yards using front crawl or breast stroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
* Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands.
Course: March 13-17 and March 20-24 (Mon – Fri); 5:30-9:00 p.m.
Sedalia Parks and Recreation is an American Red Cross Authorized Provider for training courses. All courses are Pass/Fail and no exceptions can be made. If a participant does not pass the pre-requisite course requirements, a partial refund will be issued. If a participant continues in the course beyond the pre-requisite and does not pass, no refund will be issued.
*if re-certifying for Red Cross Lifeguard Course – cost is $75
*Participants must provide a valid e-mail address and will receive their certification in 7 – 10 business days following completion of the course. Certification valid for 2 years.
